(Dynamic Random-Access Memory) pronounced D-Ram, the most common type of memory operation in modern personal computers. DRAM must be continuously refreshed (thousands of times per second) during a computer session (this occurs automatically) or it is cleared. see RAM, SRAM, ROM.
