Elevator Bar

an onscreen scroll bar located on either side of a window frame or on the bottom of the frame that allows a user to view the part of the document too large to display otherwise. The bar is activated by placing the mouse cursor on it and clicking. This moves the page either up and down or from side to side. The same function may be accomplished by using the arrow keys on the key-board.
