Port

a slot on a computer that allows it to be connected to another computer or
hardware device for the purpose of the input or output of information. Ports
may exist both internally and externally. For example, many modems are present
internally and are connected via internal ports. Printers, optical scanners, monitors
and mice are usually connected via external ports.
