(Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line) new technology requiring a special
modem that allows for the sending of data over copper telephone lines at high
speeds. Data can be transferred at rates of up to 3 Mbps because SDSL trans-mits
on frequencies not used for regular voice transmission.
