Start

In the Windows operating system, a menu activated either by a desktop but-ton
located in the lower left side of the display monitor, or a keyboard key
displaying the Microsoft logo (sometimes called the Windows key). Activating
either brings up a menu that allows a user many options such as starting a
program, changing system settings, finding files, or shutting down the com-puter.
The Start menu can also be displayed by pressing the Control and Esc
key at the same time.
